This Sunday, Feb. 26, from 6:30 p.m. to midnight, Red River Theatres in Concord, NH is celebrating the Oscars® by rolling out the red carpet, where movie lovers are invited to dress in their most stunning attire and make a grand entrance under the spotlights. Once in the theater, guests will enjoy food, music, and dancing, followed by an 8 p.m. telecast of the Academy Awards ceremony on all three of the theater’s screens. After many years of dedicated service, Gail Batstone, General Manager at The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls, has recently been elevated to Board President for the Lakes Region Tourism Association. Although this weekend’s Pond Hockey Classic changed locations due to the warm winter and resulting questionable ice conditions on Lake Winnipesaukee, the forecast calls for colder temperatures in the coming week, and officials have decided to keep the annual ice fishing derby on for next weekend!
The Great Meredith Rotary Fishing Derby will take place as planned on Meredith Bay next Saturday and Sunday, February 11th – 12th. Now in its 33rd year, the derby is one of the most well attended events in New Hampshire. Fishermen, their families, and friends gather in Meredith from all over the country and overseas in hopes of snagging the heaviest Meredith Rotary-tagged rainbow trout and claiming the grand prize.
